consultation

summary

The proposed development would provide the opportunity to maximise the recovery of building sand, while minimising environmental impacts. Tried and tested measures would be put in place to minimise any effects on the local community and the environment.

The site would be worked and restored in stages and progressively returned to heathland, grassland, woodland and some water areas, with a net biodiversity gain.

There would be no landfill operations on the site.

As part of any feedback we are keen to understand your views on the following:

  • has the website helped your understanding?
  • was the material of a suitable quality?
  • is the proposed phasing appropriate?
  • are the restoration after uses appropriate?
  • do you have a preferred vehicle access option?

Our public consultation closes on 7 August 2020

What happens next?

We will acknowledge your comments and seek to answer any points raised within a week.

Following the consultation, we will carefully consider all feedback before finalising our planning application for submission to Hampshire County Council, later this year.

The planning application will be submitted with an Environmental Statement, which will take into account all the likely significant effects and mitigation identified in the Environmental Impact Assessment. The application will also include the Planning Statement and a Non-Technical Summary.

Once submitted, these documents can be inspected on Hampshire County Council’s planning website. The council will then carry out its own consultation on the application – and you will have further opportunities to comment.
