biodiversity

Ecological surveys of the site have identified several protected bird and reptile species.

A precautionary approach will need to be taken to relocate these prior to the working of each phase by suitably qualified ecologists.

This is undertaken through a formal scheme agreed with, and under the supervision of, Natural England.

The timing of works entering new areas would be carefully managed to avoid nesting season and dormant periods for reptiles.

New habitat would be created in advance of each phase to allow for any relocated species.
