Roadside trees would be retained and enhanced by further planting creating a visual buffer.
The sand processing and stock area would be some 3 metres below ground level, with a 2 metre high soil store to provide a significant visual screen to this area.
Phasing is designed to minimise visual impact by working one side of the site at a time, retaining trees for as long as possible and by progressive restoration and replanting.
Each phase would have a 10 metre buffer zone which would include any existing trees. A temporary soil screen is also used that limit views into that area and is removed during the restoration of that phase.
